  • Statement
  • Jakob Oredsson is an artist, architect and scenographer working within the intersection of these fields. He strives to generate situations which encourage curious, open-ended encounters between the work and its context, the perceiver and the perceived, while renegotiating these definitions. The work engages a dialogue regarding the notions of time, memory and representation. He is specifically concerned with the understanding of time and space as inextricably bound.

Oredssons work is diverse and presented through a variety of mediums. It includes light and sound installations, drawings and sculptural objects, as well as public interventions. His primary practice is the creation of architectural installations both within institutions and in public spaces. These works are often urban interventions of a temporary character, inclusive and accessible works which simultaneously exposes existing qualities and generates new conditions.

His work has been presented at CPH Stage, Glyptoteket, New Shelter Plan, Moscow Museum of Modern Art, Atelier Hotel Pro Forma, 49B Studios, Factory Studios, The Cooper Union, The Watermill Center, The Prague Quadriennale, Momentum Kunsthall, besides public spaces in Copenhagen, Fredrikstad, Moss, Budapest, Oslo and New York.
